Peperomia care at a glance
- Native habitat: Tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America.
- Light: Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light.
- Humidity: Average indoor humidity is usually enough.
- Water: Let the substrate partially dry between waterings. Peperomias store water in their leaves and are sensitive to overwatering.
- Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets and humans.
- Substrate: A light, airy substrate with excellent drainage. My Chunky Mix works well.
- Temperature: 65 to 80°F.
Tip from The Plant Lady: Avoid overly dense substrate, which can hold too much moisture around the roots.
